The wide-mouthed, slightly outwardly rising neck is bent at the apex and chamfered at the upper edge, leaving a bulge in the center of the neck.
The striated stripes on the vessel’s surface are applied horizontally on the shoulders and in a twill-sugi pattern on the body, and the body is formed into a polyhedron by vertical strikes. Judging from the size of the mouth and neck and the tension of the shoulders, it is thought to have been made around the period of the Northern and Southern Dynasties. It is thinly made and extremely well tempered, giving it a grayish-black color.
