This is a slightly odd-shaped four-footed jar. The shape of the vessel is long in relation to its diameter, with a rounded curve from the neck to the body and no shoulder inflection. It differs from common four-footed vases in that one of the horizontal buttresses attached to the surface is close to the bottom, and the top of the vertical buttress is annular. This is a fine example of a thin white hard-faced jar. Judging from the base and glaze tone, it should be considered a product of the Onokitagama kiln in Aichi Prefecture.
