The most common form of Echizen o-haguro jar from the Momoyama period (1573-1600) is a tokuri (sake bottle) type with a narrow, tapered mouth neck and a slightly long body. Most of them do not have twin ears on the shoulders. Many of them also do not have a single mouth rim. The inside of the mouth and neck, as well as from the shoulder to the lower half of the body, is covered with a yellowish-brown natural glaze, which has a whitish tinge. There is a kiln mark on the shoulder.
