 There are two types of Kameyama ware large jars: one with a thick body and a folded rim band around the mouth, as shown in Figure 109, and the other with a narrow lower half of the body and a beveled edge around the mouth, as in this large jar, which has a U-shape. The bottom of the jar is made to a certain height, and then a wide clay cord is joined to the bottom to form the jar, and the vessel surface is prepared by beating the surface with a coarse grid.
 It is interesting to note that this molding technique is also common in Suzu and Iizaka. The firing temperature is low and the ware has a grayish-black color with a tile-like finish.
