This wide-mouthed, short-necked jar with a corded body is often seen in Bizen ware, but there are a few examples of the same type in Echizen ware. It is made of rolled clay with a flattened rim. The body is covered with a triangular cross sectional band and has ears on both sides to which oval shaped clay cords are attached.
It is well fired and has a brownish-brown color. There is a double kiln mark on the shoulder.
