　This is a jar in the shape of an arithmetic bowl with a short neck that opens slightly outward from the middle. It was probably made at the end of the Kamakura period or around the Nanbokucho period. It is one of the few excellent examples of old-style Tamba ceramics. It is made of high quality clay containing many fine grains of silica stone, and is rolled up and molded. It is well fired and has a brownish-brown color with a dark green natural glaze on the shoulder.
