 This is another example of the long jar series. The difference between the two is that the mouth rim of a round-bodied jar maintains a sharp anti-mouth rim, whereas that of a long jar is horizontally inflected to create a rounded rim band. Tanba, however, does not create a distinct tama-rim. This jar is also typical of such long jar type cat painted vases, with a dark green natural glaze on a blackish brown ground.
