16th century
Height 30.5 cm, mouth diameter 35.0-36.0 cm, body diameter 40.4 cm, bottom diameter 23.0 cm.
This jar may have been made at the end of the 16th century or possibly in the 17th century. In the Momoyama period, this type of jar became smaller in size, and a large jar of the Bizen type appeared separately. This small jar was made of rolled-up clay, and the mouth rim was bent horizontally to form a 1.3 cm wide green band. The ware is well finished, with a reddish-brown color, and the yellowish-green natural glaze has peeled off to reveal a grayish base.
