Chōjirō: cylindrical tea bowl, known as "Kine-ore", Black Raku

 This is considered to be the most excellent of all the Chojiro ware cylindrical tea bowls that we have seen. On the back of the lid of the inner box, there is an inscription “Kinewore (flower seal)” written in Sotan’s unique and tasteful style, and on the outer box, there is an inscription “Chojiro ware, Sotan box with inscription, Kinewore, left (flower seal)” by Tetakusai. Although the details of its antiquity are unknown, it was in the collection of the Yakura family in Kyoto.
 The style of this piece is similar to that of the “Mengei,” in terms of the height and ro-zukuri, and in particular, the hand gestures of the height and mouth are similar to those of the “Mengei. The mouth is thin, and the body is tightened at the top and bottom on two sides. The inside of the helmet is flat, and the inside of the base is not cut down very far, so the width of the helmet is not very wide. The area from the base to the waist is flat, and the inside is covered with a convex band. There are three marks on the tatami mat.
