　From around Keicho period, Oribe’s favorite Kutsu-shape tea bowls became popular in Mino, and this style influenced Karatsu as well, and Kutsu tea bowls and bowls were fired at several kilns such as Uchida Saraya Kiln, Ojiya-no-Tani Kiln, and Ushi Kiln. The mouth of the bowl is distorted to form a shoe shape, the body is tightened to form a step, and a pattern like landscape painted on the two sides with unrestrained brushwork has the flavor of an Indian ink painting. The glazed surface has fine penetrations, and the glaze drips down to the bottom of the body. The base of the bowl is clay, and the inside of the base is shallow and rounded, with the reddish clay soft and tight. The reddish clay surface is soft and tight.
