　This is a uniquely attractive piece that is always associated with the pictorial karatsu style. It is a calm-looking jar with ears on three sides of its shoulders and two ground seats at the top and three at the bottom of the base. What makes this jar so valuable is the interesting persimmon-like fruit tree painted on the body, which is interesting because the brushwork is simple but well executed, with branches extending from the trunk to the reverse side on both sides, each bearing three fruits. The pattern is speculated to have been a family crest. It is glazed with a feldspar glaze with a mixture of earth and ash inside and outside to the hem, with a soft glaze surface and fine penetrations. The base of the vessel is low, and the inside of the base is shallowly carved. The mouth is heavily damaged. It was probably made as a tea jar at the Tani Kiln in Jioya.
