This is an elegant tea bowl with a simple morning glory shape, and is thought to have been a favorite tea bowl of the Enshu period in the early Edo period. The mouth rim is covered with iron glaze, and the inner and outer sides of the bowl are covered with feldspar glaze. The sides of the base are chamfered, the base is small and the interior is shallowly carved, with a kabukin in the center and a single thin tatami mat. On the front cover of the helmet, there is an inscription “Seto Karatsu Chasai Wakatake” written in a brush that is assumed to be by Kobori Sochu.
