This is a straight and straightforward suiza with a slightly open shape, and the entire piece is thickly molded. It is similar in style to a mizusashi owned by Shao’o, and it is assumed to have been made between the late Muromachi period and the early Momoyama period. It is coated with clay both inside and out, with sesame glaze on the outside and from the inside to the bottom, and the rest of the body is burnished to a shiny brown color. The rest of the surface is burnished to a shiny brown color. This is a very rustic and stately suijina. The bottom has a clear semicircle with a kiln mark carved in spatula. The back of the vessel seems to have been stuck to another piece, leaving a sticking mark. It is probably an excellent piece of early Ibe-te.
