This small jar has a large trumpet-shaped opening at the neck of the mouth, and one end of the mouth rim has been twisted to form a one-sided mouth. It is probably a type of oil jar. It is wheel-thrown and made of slightly sandy clay, and has a seat-shaped indentation on the back. It is very well fired and brownish brown in color, with a yellowish-white natural glaze applied to half of the shoulder in the shape of sesame sprinkles. This is one of the many excellent small kataguchi pieces from this period.
