This is the same piece as the “Sabisuke” tea caddy said to be in Oribe’s possession, with a kiln mark engraved on the bottom. It is also a tea caddy in the hasty-shape, with a rounded, twisted mouth, a tight shoulder, and a slightly tapered body hem. The body is slightly sloped at the base, with spatula carving under the shoulder and four vertical stripes on the body. The body is decorated with four vertical stripes. The varied kiln variegation has produced blue, red, and yellowish-brown colors, but the overall effect is of a slightly overbearing appearance. It is said to have been made by Shinbei, but it was probably made during the Keicho period. The scenery is probably more vivid than that of “Sapisuke.
