Height 12.2 cm, mouth diameter 3.2 x 5.9 cm, bottom diameter 11.0 cm
Cnty vases with stone wash basins are most commonly found in Shigaraki, but are rarely found in Iga. The thickly molded, warped mouth is distorted by the violent pressing of one side, while the bottom is flat. The bottom of the bowl is flat. The ash that falls from the mouth to the body forms a vivid bead-like pattern, and the shoulders are partially burnished. The clay surface is dark brown and hardened, with cracks on a part of the body.
On the bottom, the ninth generation Omotesenke Ryorasai Soza wrote “Senke (Hanasho)” in red lacquer. On the back of the lid of the box, he also wrote “Iga Ware Trout Saw Flower Vase Ryoryosai”. Ryōrōdasai seems to have been fond of sakura pottery, and many of the pieces with his calligraphy on them are of excellent workmanship. The back of this piece is marked “Kin” (Kingin).
