Tub-shaped water jars have been produced in Bizen since around the Tensho period, but this one is estimated to have been made in the early Edo period. It is a large, generously sized tub-shaped container with a lot pattern on the upper part of the body and the hem, and a comb pattern on the body. The inside mouth is also glazed, and the flat bottom has a rounded mark.
