Height 5.7cm, Bowl diameter 31.8cm, Bottom diameter 20.3cm
This is an unparalleled large dish in the shape of a bowl, which is assumed to have been made in the same period as a large dish in the shape of a jyukuri (gourd) with an angler’s figure design in overglaze enamels. It is also unusual in that the design consists only of geometric patterns.
The design of a rhombus is clearly expressed within an octagonal frame, and the rim is covered with a white arabesque pattern on an indigo ground. The rim is covered with an arabesque band in white on an indigo ground. As usual, the diamond-shaped ground is decorated with cloisonné, shiho-dasuki, and tortoiseshell motifs, but the colors are vivid and the color scheme is also very well done. The back of the stand is decorated with peony arabesque with flowers in eight directions, and the outside of the stand is decorated with a comb-shaped design, both in underglaze blue.
In the center of the stand, there is an inscription in the shape of a “fuku” character in a double square.
