Fujita Museum of Art
This is one of the representative examples of Korin/Kenzan collaboration square plates in the collection of the Fujita Museum of Art as a set of ten. The front of the plate has a design of ashes and cranes in Korin’s signature brushwork, and is inscribed “Korin’s work” on the inscription, while the right side is inscribed by Qianzan, “Eyo gu mei tame yo xi舉 一声清唳驚人 乾山深省毫” and stamped “Shouko” and “Toin” on the inscriptions. Interestingly, on a series of plates of this type, the seal is stamped upside down.
