Kōrin & Kenzan: square dish with design of Hotei (Chinese priest), ironbrown under glaze

 This is one of the ten pieces in the collection of the Fujita Museum of Art, with a depiction of Hotei on the front and the inscription “Jakumei Sho. On the reverse side is the inscription, “Ie-bro Hohashi Korin Sho Tutsu-dou motsu Shinseki Inokosha ya Qianzan Shinsho Sho made”, which states that Qianzan was certain that the painting is Korin’s original work. The brushwork is somewhat different from that of the previous painting.
