This is an interesting design of a mizusashi with a large handle tied in the center, and the lid is also knotted. The lid is also tied with a knot. The fine line carving design from the lid to the shoulder is also unusual, and a thunderbolt pattern is banded in gosu and iron on the bottom of the shoulder and lid. The bottom of the vessel is stamped with the inscription “Gobosatsu” (“Goddess of Mercy”).
