The body is made of white clay and decorated with a design of birds and peonies on both sides. The design is then covered with a transparent glaze. This type of style is one of Kikai’s original works, but unfortunately there are very few of his works left. The lid is carved with a design of reishi mushrooms, and it seems that the mark “Kikai” is stamped on the underside of the lid, but the mark is not clear.
