The shape and pattern of this vessel is exactly the same as that of the “Kouchi-style water jar with a design of rough rocks”, but the green glaze on the carp and yellow glaze on the background are what is known as “yellow Kouchi ware”. The shallowly curved rim is cut cleanly around the rim to give the whole piece a more compact appearance, and there are two lines around the rim, and the flat bottom clearly shows the marks of the thread cutting, with the mark “永楽” stamped in the center.
