This tea bowl has almost the same design as the water jar, but the body of this tea bowl is more rounded. This design may have been popular at the time as a representative example of conservation. A large sun disc is placed in the center of the body, and within this is a crane with its wings spread out in white, while waves are lightly depicted in gold and silver around the base, but the silver glaze has oxidized to black. The area from the base of the body to the foot ring is unglazed, revealing the soft white clay, and the mark “Eiraku” is stamped on the side of the foot ring.
