This black square tea bowl, inscribed “Mambai,” shares the same style as the ‘Yūka’ piece, featuring a white, yellowish crackle pattern that forms a diagonal, undulating line against the cracked Raku glaze. The carving inside the footring is deep, with the “Raku” character stamped clearly in the center; four marks remain on the footring’s folded edge. On the underside of the inner box lid, Kakukaku Saigenso has inscribed: “Nonkō Black Tea Bowl, said to be worth ten thousand times its price. Left (seal).”
