The undulating rim tapers inward, while the body features incised grooves that create stepped sections, giving the bowl a broad, full waist. The rounded base features a small foot ring; the rim is flat, the interior of the foot ring is slightly carved in, and a series of ridges runs along the inner surface, with a swastika-shaped tea pool carved into the bottom of the interior. The foot ring and the area around it reveal a thin, reddish, sticky clay, while the rest is covered with a thin layer of sand glaze. On both outer sides, the fire-change effect appears intense, and part of it extends inward.
A mark is clearly stamped inside the foot, and the lid is inscribed with “Akachaban Rakucho-iri In” (Red-Brown Plate, Rakucho-in), indicating that this is a work created after the artist shaved his head at the age of forty-nine.
