　This is the oldest Buddhist vase in Koseto. Because of its small size, it is difficult to determine the general form of Buddhist vases of the period, but it is very different in form from vases from the Heian period onward, and although it has a short mouth, it is still similar to later Buddhist vases. This can be seen from the beveled bottom edge of the base and the thread-cut base foot. It is made of a dense grayish-white base and is water-ground. The flat body is decorated with a small chrysanthemum design in five places. The ash glaze is light green in color, and although thin for an early vase, the glaze is stable. A fine example of an early Kosedo Buddhist vase.
