This is one of the oldest medium-sized jars in Tokoname. The neck of the jar is heavily outwardly bowed, and the edge of the rim is thinly ground to show sharp edges, and the joint between the neck and shoulder is sharp. The body is formed in three sections by winding up the clay and joining them together. The surface is grayish black due to reduction firing, but the dark green natural glaze flows down from the shoulder to the body, giving it an attractive appearance.
