While large jars change to a form with a wide bore, medium-sized jars of the 15th century have conversely changed to a vertically elongated form with a small, narrowed bore. The upper surface of the mouth rim is folded back to adhere to the neck, as in the case of the large jar. At this stage, the seals are no longer placed at the joints of the rings, but only one or two seals are placed formally on the shoulders.
