A specialty. This is an old Seto kagatatsu tea caddy. It was owned by Kanamori Izumo no Mamoru Kashige, hence the name. It is said that Kashige discovered this tea caddy while hunting for small pots in Hida Province (Gifu Prefecture), his domain.
It is thickly made, with a brilliant persimmon glaze and beautiful black mottling, and has a magnificent golden hue. Hosokawa Sansai begged for it and received it, and although he left the Hosokawa family once during the process, it was returned to the same family again. (Rinpoho Kame Ryu, Taisho Meikikan)
