A great masterpiece. This is an old Seto tea caddy. This tea caddy was owned by Ikoma Iki no Mamoru Masatoshi, a feudal lord of Takamatsu in Sanuki Province (Kagawa Prefecture), and is named after him. It is slightly different from the Hasegawa Hashiju, but almost the same in construction. It entered the Sakai family in Wakasa (Fukui Prefecture) via Kurata Shichiroemon, Fuyuki Kiheiji, and Mitsui Hachiroemon after the Ikoma family, and was sold for 43,900 yen in 1923 when the Sakai family sold it to the Ikoma family. The Sakai family sold it for 43,900 yen when the family sold it in 1923 (Taisho 12).
