A completely combusted fire rich in oxygen is called an oxidized fire, and the color of various colored metals differs depending on the fire. For example, iron in clay will produce a reddish hue in an oxidized fire and a celadon hue in a reduced fire. Porcelain firing is generally done by reduction firing. The firing method that produces a reducing fire is called “blame firing.
