This urn was excavated from one of the medieval tomb sites in Karumi, using a riverbed stone as a lid. When it was first excavated (October 1971), it was unclear whether it was this product or not, but later, as the investigation of Kaga Kogama progressed, its attribution was clarified. The edge of the thick neck was folded outward to form a 1.3 cm wide rim band.
The thick neck of the mouth is folded outward to form a 1.3 cm wide rim band, and the stout shoulders give the impression of a Tokoname san-suji jar, but the mouth is more in the style of Kose-do. The mouth is rather Kosedo-style, perhaps incorporating elements of both. The base is a dense yellowish-white clay with a brownish-brown surface. The entire surface from the mouth rim to the shoulder is covered with a dark green ash glaze, some of which runs down to the lower half of the body. There is an inscription on the shoulder in the shape of a flower seal in the shape of a small seal. Judging from the shape of the vessel, it is thought to have been made around the period of the Northern and Southern Dynasties.
