A glaze in which the iron glaze of Seto ware, etc., is fused with the red color of the clay and looks just like astringent paper. In the Seto article of the “Appendix to Pottery Reviews,” it is written, “Shibukami glaze is mixed with Annamyaku glaze. Honde is made of white clay with a slightly thicker wooden base, and has a yellowish color, while Ippe is made of a thin wooden base and is well made, with a slightly reddish clay at the mouth of the water jar, and the yellowish medicine tends to be black. The wood is thicker and the clay is a little reddish, and the workmanship is on the hard side.
