A type of Okinawan pottery. Also called a hip bottle. A sake bottle used by the people of the region to carry awamori. It is no longer used. It is worn over the shoulder with a string passing through both ears, and the curved underside is attached to the waist. It is said to be similar to a water jar, and there are also similar ones found among the native people of the South Seas.
