The mouth rim has a large folded edge and the tama-rim is wider. The body is formed by winding up the clay with several layers of joints, and the surface of the vessel is prepared by using a brush horizontally. The two sunken lines on the shoulder were neatly drawn on the potter’s wheel, and the parallel lines show the evolution of the potter’s wheel. The firing is completely oxidized and the entire surface of the vessel has a reddish-brown fire color, with a white sesame paste natural glaze on the shoulder. This is an early example of a red Bizen ware that has begun to show the characteristics of red Bizen ware.
