This karazishi (Chinese lion) is in the same style as the previous painting, but is made on a smaller scale. The overall body is covered with kurowa, and the gilt over it is almost completely peeled off. A rakuji seal is stamped on the chest and “Tenkaichi” is engraved on the belly. The Rakuji seal seems to be different from the seal on the lion incense burner made by Sokei, and is a slightly smaller seal known as the so-called Jokei seal.
