Gray Shino tea bowl

Gray Shino tea bowl

Height 9.0cm, mouth diameter 12.5cm, base diameter 7.5cm
Tea bowl with a Nezumi-Shino bridge design, similar in appearance to the Meino-Shino Rikimaru, but there are very few similar examples of these semi-tubular Nezumi-Shino tea bowls compared to the painted Shino tea bowls. Under the glaze, there is a design of scraped off devil’s plate, but it is not clear because of the thick feldspar glaze on the top. The bottom of the bowl has a low double-height stand, and a triangular kiln mark is carved into the stand.
