Height 16.3 cm, mouth diameter 18.6 cm, bottom diameter 18.0 cm
This is a robust water jar with a nock-shaped mouth, similar to the one owned by the Hatakeyama Memorial Museum of Fine Arts.
One side of the body is decorated with a picture of an “eunsung karuta” (a Japanese playing cards), and the reverse side is decorated with a hinokaki fence pattern and floral motifs. The glaze is thick and smooth throughout, with reddish tints appearing in places, and large areas of the clay surface are burnished and reddish. The flat bottom is cut by itokiri.
