Oribe incense caddy with chrysanthemum design

Height 3.8cm, mouth diameter 4.2cm, bottom diameter 3.7cm, left and right 5.8cm
Hatakeyama Memorial Museum
Using the same technique of scraping off the glaze as that used for Oribe incense containers, this incense container has a nine-petaled chrysanthemum design on its lid. The inside of the base is shallowly chiseled, and the mouth is also thinly glazed. It was formerly in the collection of Lord Matsudaira Fumai, and later became the property of Hatakeyama Sokuo after passing through Hara Sankeio.
