Height 17.8cm, Bore 11.0cm x 11.5cm, Body 22.0cm, Bottom 12.5cm, Tokyo National Museum
Very few flattened vases are known to exist, and only a few may be counted, but this one was once in the collection of Matsunaga Yasuzaemon, who donated it to the Tokyo National Museum. It is a flat jar with a long neck, and was formed using a spatula. It has ears on both sides of the neck, and the neck is slightly depressed. A thin layer of sesame glaze covers the body from the tip of the shoulder to the tip of the body, and there is a kiln mark on the bottom. There are traces of pig iron holes on the front and back of the body, suggesting that it was once hung on the floor.
