This is a typical example of Rikyu Shigaraki, similar in style to the “Shiban Suijina” owned by Rikyu. It is a typical example of Rikyu Shigaraki ware. It is slightly thickly molded with a flat mouth and a bulging body. The clay surface is blackened and the front is covered with a bright natural beadlo glaze of a grass green color. The bottom of the bowl has a deep, rounded shape. It is said to have been handed down in the Shimazu family.
