This is a large deep bowl with a lion-shaped gong on the raised lid.
It is a typical Ko-Imari style bowl, and is almost the same as the Ko-Imari type that became popular after the Genroku period.
The design composition is complicated, but it is interesting that peony and chrysanthemum patterns are drawn alternately on the four sides of the lid and body, and a bird design is arranged on each side of the peony and chrysanthemum patterns in underglaze blue.
The red, green, yellow, and light blue colors with extensive use of gold paint create a truly luxurious atmosphere.
This is a large work of the highest quality among the Ko-Imari style works, which were once exported to Europe.
The interior is unmarked, and there is one mark on the base.
