This is an extremely high pedestal bowl. The outside of the high pedestal is decorated with a flowing water with birds and pine, bamboo, and plum blossoms. The brush strokes in underglaze blue are also quite skillful, making this an excellent Imari Sometsuke work that is near its completion. Although the date of production is not clear, it is assumed to have been made between the Kanbun and Enpo periods. It is not an early Imari Sometsuke, but rather, a slightly later style of Imari Sometsuke.
