It is said that a large number of pots of this type with strongly imposing shoulders were also fired.
The mouth and shoulders are decorated with a continuous design in underglaze blue, and the body is decorated with a chrysanthemum design centered on a taiko-shi stone with branches and tips stretched out. The lotus petal design in underglaze blue around the neck in Figure 52 and the saw-tooth pattern in Figure 53 are done in a rather rough brush style, similar to Imari Sometsuke generally seen in Japan. However, the color tone of the overglaze enamel is different from that of the Imari style, and both red, blue, and green are bright and gorgeous.
