This small food basket is designed in the form of an insect cage and has two tiers. The porcelain body is made of soft milky white porcelain with arabesque design of morning glories at the base. This is one of the best examples of this type of incense burner with this insect cage design we have seen. The two-tiered body has legs on three sides.
It is thought to have been made around the Genroku period.
