Kuchiyose-type incense burners with sleeves have been produced in Arita since early times, but those produced in Nabeshima in overglaze enamels are rare and unparalleled. The body is decorated with a more ornate representation of the cloud-shaped design seen in underglaze blue and red glaze of the Ming dynasty in China, but the depiction of the design is quite unrestrained and the shape of the vessel shows its antiquity. It has cloud-shaped legs on three sides.
