There are two types of three-foot jars: those with flat lids and those with deep lids like this vessel. The bodies of both types are similar. The lid has a bell-shaped form with a circular knob and a base, and was fired with both lids. The body has only a single chink line on the shoulder, but the three legs of the shavings are slightly inwardly warped and lack strength. The body and lid are covered with a yellowish-white natural glaze.
