This is an unusual shaku plate of Nabeshima in overglaze enamels with a tiered base. Although the figure of a boxwood tree is used in Nabeshima as a lucky motif along with peaches, the brushwork is a little weak and lacks fullness in the large picture plane. On the reverse side, the cloisonne design is arranged on three sides with a comb-shaped raised platform.
