These large Nabeshima dishes in overglaze enamels probably date from the Kyoho period or later. The design of weeping cherry blossoms on a yatsuhashi bridge is a little less substantial. The large dish with a design of bamboo grass is quite elegant, but the shape of the dish suggests that it was made in a slightly later period. On the reverse side, the Nabeshima dish with weeping cherry blossoms and eight bridges design in overglaze enamels has a cloisonne design, and the Nabeshima dish with bamboo leaves design in overglaze enamels has an arabesque design on the three sides.
